The Caelistis Sisters

The other week I started work on another ][nq28 war band with the main characters being 3 sisters. Now I haven’t thought of any back ground for them yet but they will be involved with the business of Inquisitor Gale and his group ( info of which can be found here )

Any way let me introduce you to……

Caedicia Caelistis
Caedicia Caelistis. Inquisitor.
Caesinnia Caelistis
Caesennia Caelistis. Gunslinger
Caetronia Caelistis
Caetronia Caelistis. Psyker Abomination

The idea was to have them look like sisters but have them totally different in style. The Escher gang box came in handy for quite a few of the bits especially the heads and weapons and this is what ties them togehter as looking like sisters. The other two characters shown in the image below are a familiar who is bonded to Caetronia and a Black Shield Marine who has been assigned to accompany them on their mission.

Stay tuned for more coming soon.

  1. A lovely characterful set of figures! I really need to get back to making some nice converted figures for my own pleasure, getting really tired of army painting at the minute.

I keep looking at the Primaris Marines I have on hand, I was intending on painting them to get back into 40k regularly with my friends that play more often than me.

But the more I look at them I just keep getting the urge to use them individually as truer scaled marines in skirmish warbands.

    1. Thank you. I think the Primaris Marines are great models and should just be used as normal Space Marines. The new lore sucks but the models are cool.
I’ve always been a skirmish player so I’m with you on that, they will always be true scale marines to me. This particular one is actually the first primaris marine model I’ve painted.

  2. A friend of mine did something similar IC on the old old old Conclave message board back in the mid-noughts around three brothers, each of whom were inquisitors belonging one of the three Ordos Majoris.

    1. Cool. I bet they had loads of in fighting and a daemon host at the family get together probably didn’t go down too well 😉 I think it makes a good dynamic and I can’t wait to get started on a few shorts stories for them.

  3. Cracking job mate, that’s three superb characters you have there – looking forward to seeing the painting bring them to life! Nice idea to have the hulking Marine & diminutive familiar for some scale variety as well, very cool.

  4. These look awsome. I dont play Inq28 myself but would if i had other potential players. I love looking at the models peoplw makw though so i might make some “Inq28” models that i can use as counts-as in 40k.

This band looks cool, that first model is just a great one anyway, i really appreciate the pose you have managed to strike with the conversion though. That thrusting gun arm in contrast with the relaxed one is very matter of fact threatening. I really like your psyker abomination all hunched and floating, with that like turning of the head peeking from under the hood it looks awesome. The other sister is cool too with her dual weilding dynamic sprint. Did you have to convert those guns at all? The barrels look kind of rounded?

The size difference between the sisters and the primaris is wicked, it really hits home how imposing the space marines are, you kind of loos that perspecitve in 40k with so many huge things.

I like your little cherub faced goblin bit his body is very inhuman (the kind of thing i expect the imperium to burn at a momemts notice), do you intend to give it any mechanical parts or something?

Im really lookig forward to seeing more stuff!

    1. Thanks for the kind words. I’m glad you feel inspired to get into ][nq28, it’s the best way to play. Where about’s are you based?

I’ll be posting up some more images of them soon as I’ve just finished two of them and will get some fluff written out as well. They are part of an ongoing project called Gellath.

The guns on the gun slinger are just cut down las pistols from the Escher gang kit. I think they look better this way and have the look of master crafted bolt pistols.

More stuff is on the way! 🙂

      1. Im west midlands, UK. The whole Inq28 thing is very new to me, i got into the idea seeing Krautscientist’s own work. I knew about Inquisitor (and the rediculously huge models) and i like the idea of it but never entertained playing. I know people that like to play, just not all the games id like to play. As result i miss out on AoS and the Heresy RPG. Not that i have the time to play all the games id like to even if i had the players!!! 😆

      2. Cool! I’m south London. I have a few buddies that like to play ][nq28 and AoS28. I also like to put on narrative games, which are played over a weekend. If you’re interested I’ll invite you to the next one.

      3. Hmm… Thats IS tempting. I might have to wait a while until the jids are bit easier to handle or im basically abandoning her to sleep deprevation torture and parenting hell. Could take some organising, but if im able too that sounds cool. Maybe i should get an Inq28 band together… Just in case 😋

      4. I totally get where you are coming from. When I start a project you get at least six months to prepare. I am talking my mate this weekend about the next one so will give you nudge when it’s ready to kick off.

      5. Cool, well i cant make any promises but there is definitely willing. My brother lives in london too so i could stay with him. If you have an idea what kind of warband/retinue woukd be appropriate for your Inq28 game then let me know and i could take it on as a project. Even if i cant make it it will be interesting to do and then its in the bank for when i could play. Thanks for the invite it sounds awesome. I love natrative olay games. Im looking forward to kill team, seeing how that works and maybe sorting out some narrative games for that

      6. Yes kill team is looking rather tasty. I have some of the terrain on order. I shall let you know as soon as I do what direction the game will take. it will be awesome to have you on board even just for the sheer kitbashing fun of it.
