Nurgles Plague Worm

Here’s a little teaser shot of a rather large monstrosity I have been working on over the past month. A Plague Worm of Nurgle. This leviathan will be the center piece of the army and I have a long way to go until I’m happy it’s finished, but for now here’s a shot of the head.

Sample Plague Marine

Finally got to play in my man cave!!

So for you today I have a sample Plague Marine. This is how I want my soul rotten marines to look like but in true scale. I managed to convert him in one evening and paint him in the next so if I can stick to this (and if time allows) I should have a squad of five done in two weeks. Unfortunately now that I write that I think it is wishful thinking, but hey you have to have targets right?

All thoughts and comments welcome. All hail Nurgle!!

The current works in progress

Here’s the current line up of what’s on my bench and it’s all about painting.

So we have The Blight Mother, an Anatomica Praebitores and a 54mm Inquisitor conversion, which has been going on for a while as I’ve not come up with a good right hand yet and it’s rather frustrating. So I’d like to ask all you talented people for some thoughts on what I should do. Parts suggestions and any ideas you would like to share would be most welcome 🙂

Cheers!

The Blight Mother

The descent into Chaos has begun! I hear the nurturing call of the Blight Mother, mistress of decay, chosen of Nurgle, the womb of plagues and she is sitting on my work bench primed and ready for painting.

I have been collecting grey bits for this project for a while now and I finally have enough       ( at least to start with ) for my Nurgle army. This first model is a 3D print of one of my champions, the Blight Mother. She was an experiment that turned out well and I plan to offer her as a model to buy through the Black Earth shop very soon. More on that later.

So for now here’s the first pic of this project, one which I haven’t undertaken in quite a while. Building an army worthy of Nurgle!

Dark Mechanicus Warband

Over the last few months I have been creating a bunch of Dark Mechanicus models for a warband to be used in Inq28 games.

These fellows are Nurgle worshippers, and so have some pretty digusting ways of getting you killed. One of my ideas was to have mutant blight bombs. These vile things are vat grown and carry highly corrosive inards that once detonated eat through armour, body and soul. To guide them is a herder, who protects them as well as making sure they explode where the most damage can be done.

The idea harks back to the good old Rogue Trader days, when you could have packs of mutant bombs running around exploding all over the place. See Warhammer 40000 Compilation pg 110.

Anyway, its all work in progress and I hope to have a painting session that lasts a week to get all my models finished. Fingers crossed that happens 🙂
