][nquisitor Meridian Gelds Warband

“What is victory? Victory is not just to win and watch your foe limp from the battlefield. No. Victory is the total annihilation of your opponent. Everything and everyone they love, everywhere they’ve been and everyone they’ve influenced. All must be eradicated for you to have victory. Anything short of this and you invite retaliation. In our line of work this must never happen.

We find ourselves on this world because those that claim power over it have strayed from the light. The population they lord themselves over is down trodden and hope is fading fast. Opposition to the rule is quickly stamped out and it’s not done quietly either, the Government seem to think their power is absolute and no one can touch them. They have become drunk on their own greed and corruption, seeing themselves as gods whose words and actions can send millions into destitution. Caring not about the population that ultimately supports them they are power mad and evil. This my trusted friends must be stopped.

We will do what we always do and use whatever means necessary to accomplish our goals and ensure our victory. This world will come back into the fold and will once again prosper for the better of the Imperium as every world is a precious resource that the Imperium can ill afford to loose.

Our duty is clear. Total victory or death.”

Acolyte Serrif Gore

Devillian Gorst

Daemon Host Orteleach the Chained Blight

Dao Van Grim

Brother Vasin Grey. Black Shield. Chapter unknown.

This ticks off my first completed Inq28 warband for this year. It’s a pretty good feeling getting something completed this early in the year and I hope it sets the pace for the rest of it. Keeping the palette muted is a big factor in this and it’s a way I will probably paint many of my projects that follow.

Many people have asked me how I did the white so I’m going to share that with you here. It’s mostly drybrushing, which also adds to the speed in which I can get things done.

Primer – Grey Seer

Layer – Administratum Grey.

Drybrush – Grey Seer.

Drybrush – White Scar.

Wash – Soul Blight Grey.

Drybrush – White Scar.

Pretty simple and quick!

A New Year. A New Start.

Well here we are again. A new year has just past us in a flash and it’s time once again to look ahead and make those changes you’ve always talked about and complete those hobby goals you’ve amassed year after year and will no doubt add to again this year. It’s all great fun though and that’s why it was a complete bummer when all hobby mojo left me at the end of last year. This was due to those pesky life problems and a good old dose of depression. But fear not! I am doing fine now and have started to get the hobby juices flowing again.

This post will hopefully layout the projects for this year and hopefully I will stick to them. I’m going to make a good effort in doing so as I think that’s one of the major driving forces for hobby satisfaction, the completion of a project. The projects listed below have all been started or have the models already to start. So here we go!

1: Realm of Warcry Nurgle Warband.

2: Inq28 Warbands. Inquisition and Genestealer Cults. Scenery

3: Horus Heresy Blood Angels.

4: Keeper of Secrets Greater Daemon of Slaanesh

5: Armies on Parade Dark Angles

6: Nobles of the Darkling Wood. Characters and Scenery

7: Frostgrave Warband for BOYL

8: Gorka Morka warbands and terrain

I think it’s a pretty doable list and I’m hoping it stays that way. Time will tell though and as we are all aware it only takes one new release model to throw it all into chaos 🙂

Lets now take look at some models!! Here we have the Inquisitor warband of Meridian Geld. There’s nothing particularly inspired by this group but it is a good old solid warband, with the usual suspects. All that is left to do is add a vehicle and paint them.

Next up we have my Nurgle Champion for Realm of Warcry. The very old and very dirty Bloabech Wormfinger Pallid Reaper of the Effluvient Mire.

Really quite pleased with this one and some of his followers are nearly finished as well. They are a group of Pestigors. Below is his stat card for playing the games.

Last but not least we have The Angels Tears for my Blood Angels Horus Heresy army. Loved these models from the moment they came out and wanted to do a good job on them. I’m quite proud of the red armour.

Well that’s it for now but the aim is to get a few posts done a month so I can document my progress and share wip shots with you all. Until next time!

Femme Militant

So I went and chopped up a rare Femme Militant miniature. It was bound to happen eventually and I think the result has worked out fine. The base model is that of Ratspyke, with a 3D printed ruff and the head of a Delaque. Her little friend is a model from crooked dice, which acts as her familiar.

Painting a Brat for the hell of it.

Hello all!

The painting mojo took a bit of hit lately and I found myself surrounded by too many projects on my hobby desk. This I find is never good as it becomes a bog of grey, primed and half painted great idea at the time models, which I may or may not get back to. So I had a tidy! Cleared the area! Arranged my brushes and got clean water! I then broke out a model that I’ve been wanting to paint for ages and thought I’m going to spend the day painting you. So I did and, ladies and gentlemen, it was glorious! The reason it was so good was because the model belongs to no project, it was painted for the sheer joy of it and that is what I was missing.

It’s not my best painting but it was nice to try out colours I don’t usually put together and the inspiration for the scheme came from a much loved John Blanche painting he did way back when Necromunda was known as Confrontation. I’m sure you know the one? 🙂

Cursed City -1

Greetings flesh things!

I have been bitten well and truly by the Soulblight curse! The model range is an absolute cracker and I’m currently working my way through buying them month after month. It all started with the Cursed boxset, and I count myself lucky to have gotten one! The idea is to paint them straight out of the box, which is weird for me as I’m always chopping models up, it is however rather refreshing and I’ve taken to painting them as quickly as I can. Saying that though progress is slow, but I do suffer from having too much on my plate and my side plates 🙂

The models below are the first off the sprue and they all took roughly 3hrs to paint each. Contrast paints are a winner for this and I came up with a method of painting them, which I hope to share with you all on another post, that I’ll use for the rest of the boxset as well.

Hope you like them 🙂

Ghoul Band

It’s all about the undead at the moment and to start off the many models I have waiting to be painted here’s the first war band. A bunch of nasty ghouls! Led by a Ghoulmancer and his Feral friend with a large sword. They were a great set of models to paint as I kept things quite loose and on a time limit, a process I intend to keep doing as it means I’ll get more finished, a goal for this year to be sure 🙂

Eavy Metal!! Old School.

Here’s a a bit of fun I’ve had putting together a few pages of old school Eavy metal, just like the ones from the old days. Oh how I miss them! Such great sources of inspiration then and now, I often have a look back through old White Dwarfs to find a spark for an idea and the Eavy Metal pages have always been great for that. They were bright and bold and showed the wide range of wackiness that is Warhammer. Glorious!!

OPHU’RYA

Panting hard I ran around the corner. I had to make it to the communications room before they spotted me again. I heard a slight buzzing sound coming from behind me and I slid under one of the cogitator tables in the corner of the room. Not the best hiding place but at least it was dark. It had been getting darker in the Library for weeks now and with it came death. I feared I maybe the last Steward alive in this section. I must reach the comms, it was my only hope.

The servo skull hovered into view it’s needler tracking the area around it. The red glow of it’s eyes fell on my hiding place and paused. I closed my eyes and prayed to the God Emperor. It made a clicking sound turned around and whizzed off down the hall. I let out my breath. Thank the Emperor. I crawled out from under the table and made my way as quickly as I could to the comms room.

Entering the room I sat down trembling and fumbled the vox piece. I sat trying to regulate my breathing and calm down. Taking a deep breath I began to dial the steward code and then spoke into the vox.

” Calling on anyone who can hear me. I am trapped in section 9 sub level 3! Please respond! They are all dead! Repeat they are all dead! The Librarians have gone, the Scribes have turned and even the servo skulls are against us. Please come in! Anyone! “

I sat back tears rolling down my cheeks then spoke into the vox again.

” Please God Emperor this is my last hope.”

” Such ssweet sorrow “

I froze.

” Hope iss such a wonderful thing to play with.”

I dropped the vox.

” Look at me pitiful thing.”

I turned against my will and saw the horror bleed out of the very walls.

” I have been watching you. The hope you have felt wass just my game. What fun it is! Now let me see, that must make me your God Emperor.”

It chuckled and the sound made my eyes bleed.

” Thatss it get it out of your system. For all hope is gone for you now and I can see you know this to be true. Take my hand and you shall know no more, for I, Ophu’rya, shall take care of you now.

I reached out with my hand, I could not fight it, and the horror took it.

” Of course there will be an enormous amount of pain first.”

It smiled down at me.

” Good night pitiful thing.”

Ophu’rya the second Daemon host to join the war band. Like Morde’rya it’s an ancient host and it has become like writhing flesh and it’s warp stained power surrounds it. The paint job is very similar to Morde’rya and done mostly with Contrast paints, they blend so well. The Night Haunt continue to be a source of awesome bits and I made good use of the limited edition Darrakar model for Ophu’rya. Chopping the bits off I didn’t need and using a flagellant head and greenstuff to finish it off.

Vulmor Dret- 9 Vudax

Vulmor Dret-9 Vudax looked pleased with himself. Morde’rya had just returned with two more pitiful Stewards. The Daemon Host dumped them unceremoniously on the floor, their stunned bodies not moving. Dim souls they may contain but they will do for this next phase in the great plan. The Lady Belogaer herself had given the Daemonologist the duty of tracking down the Stewards and sacrificing them to her ingenious Daemon Wells. A duty he thought beneath him at first, but not anymore, there was much to document and learn from the leaching of the souls into the Wells.

The Well in front of him was still, it’s liquid as black as the void and more Scribes had started to join the circle around it. Morde’rya hovered in front of him.

” Do you think you could bleed them when they are consciousss thiss time Magosss. The sscreams you ssee are so very ssstatisfying to me”

Vulmor looked at the Daemon Host. It was a fascinating specimen and one he would love to study more but he knew the Inquisitor with the red hands may object to that.

” Loud sounds are not necessary for this for this procedure. “

The Daemon Host tilted it’s head and shook it with dissatisfaction.

” Sssuch boring consstructs you Mechanicum are. There iss much to learn from the soundss of pain you know. ”

Vulmor thought about this, maybe Morde’rya was right, it was a creature of great power and ancient beyond reckoning.

” We will proceed as you suggest then. Wake them up if you will.”

Morde’rya smiled a sickly smile.

” With pleassure Magoss.”

The Daemon Host looked down at the Stewards and they stirred. Awake they both looked up and realised they were still in hell. The screaming followed soon after and Vulmor decided he quite liked the sound of it after all.
